Bread machine jam is a wonderful thing! It is super easy to make and very versatile. It can be used on toast, baking a cake, with cheese or just making breakfast a very tasty start of the day.

As most of us know breakfast kick-starts your metabolism, helping you burn calories throughout the day. It also gives you the energy you need to get things done. Those are just a few reasons why it’s the most important meal of the day.
For my attempt to make jam a part of a healthy breakfast I used blueberry jam that I made in my bread machine last week (https://sourdoughmovement.com/2016/06/13/frozen-blueberry-jam-in-bread-machine/). Blueberries contain a whole bunch of vitamins and minerals, are a good source of fiber, and are an excellent source of low glycemic index (GI) carbohydrates.

I also used premium granola – Golden Girl Granola. According to http://www.discoverbulk.com/HealthBenefits.aspx?ID=526, granola is full of heart healthy whole grains such as oats, wheat and whole wheat flour that can help to lower cholesterol. The whole grains in granola are also a good source of soluble and insoluble fiber, which help to keep your intestines in proper working order and also keep your body feeling fuller for longer periods of time. Many granolas also contain various nuts, which are beneficial to your body. Nuts, such as walnuts and almonds, contain “good” fats and omega-3 fatty acids that are essential for heart health.

So, for 1 cup of this morning gloriousness you will need:
- 1/2 cup of plain Greek yogurt
- 1/3 of Granola – I used premium Golden Girl Granola – http://www.goldengirlgranola.com/
- 2 tbsp of blueberry jam
- 1/4 cup of blueberries
And then put everything in the following order: yogurt, granola, jam and blueberries. Enjoy this lovely, healthy breakfast and bread machine jam used in one more different way.
