Bread machine can also be used to prepare stews. It makes cooking simple and quick.
For my first stew I decided to cook red split lentils stew with grounded turkey and garbanzo beans.
For this recipe you will need:
- 1 cube of beef bouillon (stock cube)
- 1/2 cup of lentils (for that matter can be any kind of lentils)
- 1/2 can of garbanzo beans
- 1/2 can of green pitted olives
- 1lb of grounded turkey
- Salt and pepper, olive oil
First of all use pan to cook grounded turkey. I cooked it in olive oil and added some salt and pepper.
Then dissolve 1 cube of beef stock in 1.5 cups of hot water. The idea is that one should use 3 times as much water than lentils.
Then put cooked grounded beef, lentils, beans, olives, and dissolved stock in bread machine.
Set machine to jam function and cook it for 50min.
You can serve it with bread 😉 Enjoy!
I had no idea a bread machine could be used for so many things other than bread! How interesting. And this stew looks good too!

I saw you liked my lemon cookies so, I came by to see what you bake. You are amazing.
I want to make a pie today because it’s Pi(e) day. We will see how that goes!
I need to pull out my bread maker and see if it will work..haha
