Citrus fruits used to be a symbol of the Golden State’s prosperity. As said in Los Angeles magazine:
“Spanish missionaries in San Diego planted the first California orange trees in 1769, but it wasn’t until the 1870s that an endless belt of groves transformed Los Angeles into what became known as the Orange Empire”.
Inspired by this great orange glory of Southern California I have decided to make some orange jam.
The recipe:
- Zest two oranges
- Use 5 medium oranges or 2 cut cups
- 1 1/2 cups of sugar
- 3 tbsp of pectin
Use jam function on bread machine to make it.
The result is truly great!
